Chelsea Beach is a 1.5 km long, straight stretch of sand between Bonbeach and Edithvale. The beach is located 250 m west of the Chelsea railway station and is home to the Chelsea Life Saving Club, founded in 1917.
Further up the beach, there is also the Chelsea Yacht Club. A short pier lies just south of the lifesaving club; and a foreshore park, picnic area and parking are all available immediately north of the club.
The beach has essentially identical beach, surf and bar characteristics as adjoining Bonbeach, ie. a usually attached and shallow inner bar, with two outer bars.
