Between the eastern shore of Haughton River mouth and Hughes Creek, 35 km to the east, is a series of very low energy beaches, interspersed with mangrove-fringed shores and tidal creeks. There is no vehicle access to any of the beaches and all are backed by an extensive tidal plain.Connors Island Beach (883) is a straight, 1.5 km long, north facing strip of low sand, backed by a low beach ridge, then mangrove-covered tidal flats, and fronted by 1 to 3 km wide, sandy tidal flats.

Swimming

None of these beaches or tidal flats are really suitable for swimming owing to the shallow water, strong tidal currents in the creeks and possibility of crocodiles.

Surfing

None.
